At the ‘2024 Goyang Special City Safety and Security Officers’ General Meeting’ held in the conference room of Deogyang-gu Office on the 11th, Goyang Special City awarded commendations to 41 safety and security officers and 2 districts who contributed to the promotion of safety culture. At the general meeting, the safety and security officers’ major achievements were shared and future activity directions were discussed.

Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced that it held the ‘2024 Goyang Special City Safety and Security Officers’ General Meeting’ in the conference room of Deogyang-gu Office on the 11th and held an award ceremony for those who contributed to spreading safety culture.
This general meeting was held to review the performance of safety officers and seek development directions for 2025. The Goyang Special City Safety Officers’ Union is carrying out various activities to spread safety culture in the lives of citizens, and at the general meeting held that day, they had time to look back on their efforts so far.
At the award ceremony held after the general meeting, Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan personally presented the award certificates. 41 safety security officers and two districts, including Gwansan-dong in Deogyang-gu and Gajwa-dong in Ilsanseo-gu, who have devoted themselves to promoting a safety culture, were honored with awards.
The Goyang Special City Safety and Security Officers’ Union consists of 366 members, including 167 from Deogyang-gu, 110 from Ilsandong-gu, and 89 from Ilsanseo-gu. They perform various roles to raise safety awareness in the local community and ensure that citizens thoroughly follow safety rules.
Their main activities include participating in various safety trainings and campaigns, reporting safety violations in daily life, and the monthly ‘Safety Inspection Day’ campaign. Through these activities, they are playing a pivotal role in spreading safety culture throughout the region and protecting the safety of citizens.
At the award ceremony held that day, Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan emphasized, “The dedicated activities of safety and security officers have greatly contributed to the development of safety culture in Goyang Special City,” and “We will continue to work with safety and security officers to make Goyang Special City a safer and more livable place.” He also asked, “I ask you to be more active in protecting the safety and happiness of citizens.”
Meanwhile, Goyang Special City plans to continuously strengthen the activities of safety security officers with the goal of spreading a citizen-participatory safety culture. Through this, it plans to prepare various support measures and programs so that Goyang citizens can experience and practice safety in their daily lives.
