Korea Open Cyber University (OCU, President Jang Il-hong) successfully held the ‘2024 Capable Special Professor Workshop’ on the 17th to commemorate the opening of the Gangnam Learning Center. About 100 special professors, research professors, industry head professors, and school officials attended the event to discuss educational innovation, academic convergence, and sustainable development plans.

Korea Open Cyber University held the ‘2024 Capable Special Professor Workshop’ to commemorate the opening of the Gangnam Learning Center. This workshop was attended by approximately 100 special professors, research professors, industry head professors, and school officials, and was a meaningful time to explore the future of educational innovation and convergence education.
The workshop began with a vision presentation by the Innovation Convergence Education Business Group and the Convergence Education Business Group. Then, Professor Na-young Yoon of the Department of Social Welfare and Professor Hyun-mi Choi of the Department of Childcare shared examples of excellent special professor council operations and presented ways to strengthen academic achievements and field connections.
In the presentation of the development vision for each department, 16 professors introduced their achievements and future plans in their respective fields of expertise and exchanged various ideas for educational innovation and academic convergence.
An official from Korea Open Cyber University said, “This workshop was an important opportunity to commemorate the opening of the Gangnam Learning Center and to explore the university’s vision and the capabilities of special professors,” adding, “We will continue to create a venue for cooperation for sustainable academic achievements and educational innovation.”
This event served as an opportunity to promote communication and integration between departments and strengthen the network among faculty members. Participants shared educational directions and strategies and discussed sustainable development plans together.
Meanwhile, Korea Open Cyber University is operating various educational programs with the goal of fostering convergent talents and educational innovation. In particular, it plans to establish a future-oriented educational system by improving the learning environment and strengthening external cooperation, centering on the Gangnam Learning Center.
