Goyang Special City held the ‘2024 Goyang Printer’s Day’ event at KINTEX 1st Exhibition Hall in Goyang on November 25. This event was held to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the opening of the Goyang Printing Culture Hub Center, and to promote unity and exchange among printing companies and share a vision for the future of printing culture.

Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) held the ‘2024 Goyang Printers’ Day’ event at KINTEX 1st Exhibition Hall in Goyang on the 25th to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the opening of the Goyang Printing Culture Hub Center. The event was designed to promote unity and exchange among those working in the printing industry and to discuss technological advancements and the future vision of the industry.
Since its opening in September 2022, the Goyang Printing Culture Hub Center has supported the growth of printing companies centered around the Janghang-dong printing cluster and has established itself as the center of the printing industry in Goyang City. This event was planned to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the center’s opening, boost the morale of printing industry workers, and explore the direction of industrial development.
About 150 people attended the event, including Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, Goyang Special City Council Chairman Kim Un-nam, Goyang Special City Council members, Gyeonggi Techno Park Headquarters Director, and printing and publishing officials, adding to the meaning of the event.
The event provided practical information to those in the printing industry by introducing the latest printing and publishing automation solutions and holding a special lecture on paper. In addition, an award ceremony for the Printing Technology Competition was held along with an exhibition of award-winning works, providing an opportunity to see innovative printing technologies and creative works at a glance.
Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan said, “The recent Nobel Prize in Literature award to a writer from Goyang City is an unprecedented event that has injected new vitality into the printing and publishing industry,” and added, “I hope this event will provide strength to printing companies struggling due to the economic downturn and serve as an opportunity for printing culture to develop further.” He continued, “Goyang City will seek various development plans with the industry to secure the future competitiveness of the printing industry.”
Through this event, Goyang Special City once again confirms the importance of printing culture and plans to continue providing support and cooperation so that the local printing industry can secure new growth engines.
