Bucheon City Long-Term Care Support Center successfully completed the 2024 long-term care facility on-site training and is providing customized training to meet the needs of local workers. The program, which ran for 7 months from May to December, targeted 19 institutions and 328 workers completed the training.
Customized on-site training for nursing facilities
Recognizing that long-term care workers have a difficult time attending external training due to their demanding schedules, the center provided training directly to the organizations. This approach ensured that workers who might otherwise miss out on opportunities could receive high-quality training on the job.

Comprehensive curriculum for strengthening worker capabilities
The training program covered essential topics tailored to the practical needs of long-term care workers, including:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Provides life-saving skills to workers in emergency situations.
Human Rights Abuse Response Guidelines: Create a respectful and safe workplace environment.
Training on Emotional Laborer Rights: Addressing the Unique Challenges Emotional Laborers Face.
A caring attitude that respects the elderly: Improving the quality of care through empathy and professionalism.
Taping Therapy: Introducing practical techniques for physical support and management.
This training was conducted in cooperation with institutions such as Bucheon City Workers’ Welfare Center and Bucheon Workers’ Health Center, further enhancing the program’s expertise and influence.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative. One caregiver said, “I usually have difficulty attending training due to my shift work, but I was able to receive high-quality training by visiting the facility in person.” In particular, the CPR training was very helpful in improving my ability to respond to emergency situations.
Future plans to expand educational opportunities
Lee Young-joo, director of Bucheon City Long-term Care Support Center, said, “I hope this year’s field training will help strengthen the capacity of long-term care workers and protect their rights.” He added, “We will continue to strive to meet the demand for field training.”
The center plans to expand the ‘on-site education’ program to eliminate the education gap and target more long-term care workers starting next year. For more information, please visit the Bucheon City Long-Term Care Support Center website (bcgonggam.or.kr) or call 032-329-8663 directly.
