Despite domestic and international difficulties in 2023 , Geumsan-gun achieved major results such as securing KRW 199.4 billion in public offering funds , attracting the Bangwoo-ri pumped-storage power plant , and promoting the globalization of the Geumsan ginseng industry . Geumsan-gun is preparing for the next 100 years by laying the foundation for revitalizing the local economy and population under the goals of the 8th elected government .

Geumsan-gun is expecting economic ripple effects such as a total of 49.3 billion won in subsidies over the next 50 years , an influx of more than 420,000 people , annual local tax revenue of 700 million won , and tourism revenue of 500 billion won through the attraction of the Bangwoo-ri pumped-storage power plant . It is evaluated as the result of cooperation between the county residents, administration , and business operators through a signature campaign by 40,000 residents and a resolution meeting by 1,000 members of social groups .
Geumsan Ginseng has expanded its presence in the global market this year by recording export performances of 534 tons and 14.1 million dollars through international exchanges with 12 cities in 7 countries . Geumsan World Ginseng Festival has established itself as a global festival by winning 4 awards including 2 gold medals at the Pinnacle Awards World Championships .
In addition , Geumsan-gun is securing a total of 45 billion won through the creation of an atopic natural healing village , and is developing it into a center for rural study abroad and health tourism by planning 205 eco-friendly health houses, a specialized middle school , an eco-park , and a trail .
Geumsan-gun has been designated as an educational development special zone and is promoting special projects to foster local talent, such as smart education , high school revitalization , and expansion of university admissions , through special grants of more than 3 billion won each year .
By expanding sports infrastructure such as Bandabi Sports Center and Geumsan Baseball Stadium, the 30th Chungnam Provincial Disabled Sports Competition was successfully held , boosting the pride of Geumsan sports . With the number of annual visitors to Geumsan Darakwon exceeding 200,000, the city is continuing its leap forward as a prestigious cultural and sports city .
Geumsan-gun is preparing for the future in various fields such as regional balanced development , economic revitalization , and entry into the global market based on this year’s achievements . Geumsan-gun’s challenges and achievements, unwavering in the face of internal and external crises, are giving hope and expectations to the people of the county .
