Geumsan-gun has reached a new turning point in regional development by securing a national and provincial government project of 199.4 billion won, the largest ever this year . It plans to pursue various projects to improve the quality of life of the county residents through 60 projects, including improving the living environment , balanced development , expanding sports facilities , and creating educational special zones .

Geumsan-gun achieved its best performance ever this year by securing a budget of 199.4 billion won for public offering projects despite the difficult situation of reduced subsidies . The 60 projects selected this time will be promoted in various fields for the sustainable development and balanced growth of Geumsan-gun .
Major projects include: △ Modernization of aging water supply systems △ New Village Project △ Phase 2 , 2nd term regional balanced development project △ Construction of Bandabi Sports Center in Chubu-myeon △ Creation of a Korean medicine village △ Regional vitality town △ Education development special zone , etc.
The military will invest a total of 39.2 billion won by 2030 to modernize aging water supply systems . Through this, the government plans to increase the tap water supply rate ( the ratio of the total water supply for which fees can be collected ) to 85%, thereby supplying clean and safe water .
The New Village Pilot Project was selected through a public offering by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport , and a total of 47 billion won will be invested to build parking lots , parks , and resident convenience facilities in the Guncheong 4 -gil area . Through this, the plan is to promote the regeneration of old and new downtown areas and the maintenance of small-scale housing, thereby promoting regional revitalization .
As a second – stage, second- term regional balanced development project, KRW 30 billion will be invested from 2026 to 2030 to create the Geumsan Specialized Smart Farm and Agricultural Product Distribution Center (APC) Valley and build the Atopia Retreat residential resort complex .
The Chubu-myeon Bandabi Sports Center is a sports space that can be used by both the disabled and non-disabled, and a total of 19 billion won will be invested . Various facilities such as a swimming pool , fitness center , and small gymnasium will be provided to promote the sports welfare of residents .
The Hanui Medicinal Herb Village is a facility that provides healing and health experiences to tourists centered on Geumsan ginseng and Confucian culture ( exhibitions , Hanok lodging , rest and convenience, etc. in Ain-ri , Geumsan-eup ) , and will be developed with an investment of KRW 18.5 billion by 2027. In addition , the Local Vitality Town will invest KRW 14.3 billion to build 18 single-family houses and a complex health community center, and support rural care and healing activities .
The Education Development Special Zone project will receive special grants and special support of more than 3 billion won annually from 2024 to promote various education projects such as smart education , high school revitalization , and linking university advancement and employment .
Park Beom-in, the governor of Geumsan County, said, “ Next year is an important year that will lay the foundation for the next 100 years for Geumsan County ,” and added , “ Through the public offering projects we have attracted this year, we will do our best to create a Geumsan that future generations can be proud of together with the residents . ” The county expects that these projects will greatly contribute to not only regional development but also to improving the quality of life for the residents .

The 199.4 billion won public offering project secured by Geumsan County is expected to be an important opportunity to bring about real change to the county residents and the local community . The projects being carried out in various fields such as balanced development , improvement of living environment , expansion of sports facilities , and establishment of educational special zones are expected to make Geumsan’s future even brighter .
