Geumsan Premium Rice will be exported to the U.S. market in a total of 40 tons, including 2,950 bags of 6.8 kg , 1,200 bags of 10 kg , and 400 bags of 20 kg . This export is evaluated as an important case that proves the high quality of Geumsan rice and its competitiveness in the international market . Geumsan County has achieved export success by gaining international trust through continuous quality control and producer education .
In particular, Geumsan County Agricultural Technology Center supported the production of high-quality rice by implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification , soil testing , pesticide residue and heavy metal testing, etc. In addition, systematic support for exports was provided , such as ingredient analysis , packaging design production , logistics cost support , and farming technology training . Such efforts contributed to Geumsan Premium Rice receiving high evaluations in the international market .
As domestic rice consumption slows down and farmers are struggling, this export is an important turning point that will revitalize the rice industry . Park Beom-in, the governor of Geumsan County, said, “ In a difficult situation nationwide due to the slowdown in domestic rice consumption, this rice export has great significance ,” and “ I will do my best to provide administrative support to revitalize the rice industry and contribute to price stability . ”
