Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan was the only local government head to receive the External Audit Award at the CBS 70th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony. Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 17th that Mayor Lee Dong-hwan received an external audit award at the 70th anniversary celebration of the Christian Broadcasting System (CBS).
CBS (Christian Broadcasting System) was launched in 1954 as the first private broadcasting company in Korea and celebrated its 70th anniversary this year. At the commemorative event held on the 9th, winners from various fields were selected with the theme of “70 Years of Gratitude, CBS Saving Lives” attended by 500 people from the political, government, corporate, financial, religious, and academic circles.
The External Audit Award is an award presented by CBS to individuals who have contributed to the creation and development of social value in each field. This year, a total of 29 people received the award, and Mayor Lee Dong-hwan was the only local government head to receive the award.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan received high marks for ▲improving the city brand image through public interest campaigns, ▲discovering local community issues and promoting citizens’ right to know, ▲practicing proactive administration that citizens can experience, ▲strengthening the city’s competitiveness by promoting future food projects, ▲establishing a tourism city brand that combines history and culture, and ▲providing customized welfare services for citizens.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan said in his acceptance speech, “I pay tribute to CBS for the important role it has played in spreading gratitude and love in our society for the past 70 years,” and added, “I will continue to listen more closely to the voices of citizens and do my best with a greater sense of responsibility in the field of people’s livelihood.”
Meanwhile, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan is leading the development of Goyang City through sustainable policies and citizen-friendly administration to strengthen the city’s competitiveness, and plans to continue his efforts to run the city better with this award as an opportunity.
