Since April, the district has been preparing for the ‘2024 Testbed Seoul Demonstration Support Project’ competition hosted by the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency through public-private cooperation with Doctors Biotech Co., Ltd. and the Guro District Branch of the Korean Association of Senior Citizens, and was finally selected as a demonstration institution in August.

Accordingly, the district will promote an AI-based senior citizen health management program using an AI-based unmanned information kiosk for 1,000 senior citizens using the senior citizen center by December of next year.

The artificial intelligence (AI) auscultation unmanned guidance device (kiosk) measures the user’s breathing sounds, respiratory rate, and heart rate using artificial intelligence after a preliminary questionnaire and by placing the respirator on the user’s chest and breathing, it detects abnormal breathing sounds before they progress to pneumonia.

This not only allows them to receive the necessary treatment at the right time, but also helps maintain the health and longevity of the elderly by detecting pneumonia, which has a high mortality rate, early.

This time, the locations where artificial intelligence (AI) stethoscope unmanned guidance devices (kiosks) are being installed are: △Sindorim-dong (Woosung 3cha), △Guro 1-dong (Gu-il Woosung), △Guro 2-dong (Guro 2-dong), △Guro 3-dong (Guro 3-dong), △Guro 4-dong (Guro 4-dong Welfare Center), △Guro 5-dong (Mirinae), △Garibong-dong (Hogukbohoeun Guro), △Gocheok 1-dong (Gurip Gukhwa), △Gocheok 2-dong (Deokui), △Gaebong 1-dong (Baekgok), △Gaebong 2-dong (Gaebong 2-dong), △Gaebong 3-dong (Gaebong 3-dong), △Oryu 1-dong (Happy Housing), △Oryu 2-dong (Ojeong), △Sugung-dong (Onsu), △Hang-dong (Gurip Arboretum), a total of 16 senior centers.

In relation to this, the district held a business briefing session for relevant senior center officials at the Guro-gu Health Center on December 12 and explained the business purpose, operation plan, and unmanned information kiosk functions.

At the briefing session, an unmanned kiosk was demonstrated, allowing attendees to experience AI respiratory screening firsthand.

Installation of unmanned information kiosk will proceed sequentially starting this month.

In addition, we plan to dispatch professional instructors to each base route to operate health management programs such as pneumonia prevention and mobile smoking cessation clinics.

We will also use various channels and materials to focus on publicizing the importance of respiratory screening and pneumonia vaccination during the winter.

A Guro-gu official said, “We expect that the AI unmanned information kiosk will enable early detection and management of respiratory diseases in the elderly, as well as improve their overall quality of life,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to promote the health of our residents by actively utilizing cutting-edge technologies.”
