The target group is college and graduate students who have been registered as residents of Jongno-gu for more than one year as of the application date (January 2, 2025).

Applicants must have been enrolled in a 4-year university for at least 2 semesters, or a 2- or 3-year university for at least 1 semester. However, new students entering in 2025 and students currently enrolled in overseas universities or broadcasting universities are not eligible to apply.

In addition, the property tax amount for 2024 must be less than 2.5 million won, and the standard is calculated as the amount of the applicant’s own for those born before 1990, and the combined amount of the parents’ for those born after.

In addition, the total amount of scholarships or student loans from schools, scholarship organizations, the Korea Student Aid Foundation, etc. must not exceed the tuition amount. If you have received a scholarship from Jongno-gu Scholarship Association within the past two years, you will be excluded from the review.

Applications must be submitted by visiting the local community center by 6:00 PM on January 17, 2025, and submitting a self-introduction, proof of enrollment, transcript, and copy of resident registration. The submission form must be downloaded from the Jongno-gu Office website.

A total of 90 scholarship students will be selected in this recruitment, and the results will be announced on February 7, 2025. The selected scholarship students will receive a scholarship of 2 million won each in two installments, in February and August. During the benefit period, applicants must continuously meet the application qualifications (such as maintaining their address and grades).

Jongno-gu officials said, “Through this scholarship program, we will reduce the financial burden on underprivileged students and their parents, and support students so that they can focus on their studies.”
