Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Gil-seong Kim) announced that it successfully held the ‘Childcare Worker’s Day’ event at the main auditorium of Shindang Nuri Center on the 19th. This event is held every year to commend the hard work of childcare teachers who are dedicated to improving childcare services and to provide a place for unity.

This event was attended by approximately 300 teachers and staff from 65 kindergartens in Jung-gu. In the first part of the event, awards were given to the kindergarten directors and 24 outstanding kindergarten teachers, and time was spent encouraging them for their efforts.

The second part of the event, which followed, featured long-term bragging, games, and guest singer performances on the theme of harmony and communication. At this event, the childcare staff enjoyed themselves freely, relieved fatigue from their daily work, and fostered camaraderie among themselves.

Jung-gu has 1,047 childcare workers working in 65 daycare centers in the district, and is preparing various support measures to support the healthy and safe growth of children. In particular, continuous efforts are being made to improve the treatment of childcare workers by providing welfare benefits and Teacher’s Day incentives, and supporting the labor costs of substitute teachers and cooks.

At the event, Jung-gu District Mayor Kim Gil-seong said, “I would like to express my gratitude to all the childcare staff who have dedicated themselves to the healthy growth of children throughout the year,” and added, “I hope that today’s event will be a time to relieve some of the hard work and recharge your energy.”

He continued, “Jung-gu will work with childcare teachers to create a trustworthy childcare environment and lay the foundation for Jung-gu to become a great place to raise children.”

Meanwhile, Jung-gu plans to improve the treatment of childcare workers and expand support for daycare center operations next year to improve the quality of childcare services and create an environment where more families can safely leave their children there.
