Munrae Youth Center, ‘ECO TEACHER’ program to raise environmental awareness among youth

The ‘ECO TEACHER’ program operated by the Munrae Youth Center was successfully completed in 2024. This environmental education program was conducted with 9 youth environmental instructors and 300 youths, and provided education on various topics such as carbon neutrality, resource circulation, and environmental jobs. They received a great response as they provided practical experience for youths to directly think about and solve environmental problems.

The ‘ECO TEACHER’ program was designed to raise environmental awareness among youth and create sustainable changes. The Munrae Youth Center, which aims to provide customized environmental education to youth through training experts, is helping youth understand the impact of small changes in daily life on the environment through this education. In fact, the youth who participated had time to suggest recycling ideas, calculate their own carbon footprints, and feel the importance of environmental protection firsthand.

This is not just a lecture, but a hands-on activity where the youth solve problems on their own, and it is showing real results. After the program, one youth said, “I realized the importance of reducing disposable products, and now I want to tell my friends about environmental issues.”

In 2025, the program will be expanded to include more youth. The Munrae Youth Center plans to recruit new environmental instructors and enhance the curriculum next year, adding new topics such as climate crisis and biodiversity conservation. Through this, it will also actively carry out project-based activities in which youth explore environmental issues in their local communities and propose solutions.

In this way, the ‘ECO TEACHER’ program of the Munrae Youth Center is playing an important role in helping youth create their own sustainable future, and is expected to bring even greater changes in the future. Attention is focused on the operation of the program in 2025.
