The opening of the SBS entertainment program ‘Running Man’, which aired on December 1st, was filmed in front of Cafe Waterfall in Seodaemun-gu, drawing attention.
The opening, which took place at ‘Cafe Waterfall’ where you can enjoy a beautiful waterfall, was portrayed lively even in the chilly weather. Kim Jong-guk looked at the waterfall and exclaimed, “Is there a place like this?” and captured the waterfall scenery with his camera. Yoo Jae-suk, Song Ji-hyo, and Ji Ye-eun, who appeared afterward, also exclaimed in admiration while taking in the waterfall scenery with their eyes.
Ji Seok-jin also looked at the waterfall and said, “Is this Korea?” and was surprised by the exotic atmosphere of ‘Hongje Falls.’ ‘Cafe Falls,’ operated by Seodaemun-gu, is receiving love from various media outlets for its picturesque scenery. Many programs, such as tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block,’ MBC’s ‘Live Tonight,’ and the Korean traditional music program ‘Lee Se-jun’s Good Music Night,’ have captured the scenery of ‘Cafe Falls.’
The district is actively cooperating with such broadcast filming. Lee Seong-heon, the mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “We are supporting the Cafe Waterfall’s profits as a happiness scholarship for students in the district, and we expect that if more people visit the cafe after being introduced in broadcast content like this, it will help expand the fund.” Incidentally, 114 people were given a total of 200 million won in the ‘Cafe Waterfall Happiness Scholarship’ in two installments this year.
For ‘Cafe Waterfall’ filming, please contact the Seodaemun-gu Office Youth Policy Division (02-330-1898). Filming for commercial purposes is excluded, and filming is approved on the condition that noise generation and blocking of passageways are minimized and a management plan is established to prevent safety accidents.
Meanwhile, the city recently installed a large dome (pictured) in front of Cafe Waterfall to block out the cold, and it is expected to become very popular as a winter attraction.
