In the environmental sector, we have focused on responding to climate change and expanding eco-friendly transportation infrastructure. Currently, we are operating 31 hydrogen buses, which has drastically reduced harmful gases emitted when using public transportation, and have contributed to increasing bicycle usage by expanding the number of public bicycles ‘Owl’ from 3,422 in 2023 to 3,640 in 2024. In addition, we have taken the lead in realizing carbon neutrality by recycling 100% of forest waste generated in public facility complexes. In addition, we are promoting energy-saving innovations such as introducing solar power-based facilities, thereby laying the foundation for eco-friendly management.

In terms of social aspects, we have carried out various social contribution activities with coexistence with the local community as our core value. We have guaranteed the right to mobility for the transportation disadvantaged by operating the demand-responsive bus ‘Duruta’ and the disabled call taxi ‘Nuri Call’, and we have operated a traffic officer school to foster transportation workers and revitalize the local economy. In particular, traffic safety education using the children’s safety experience bus has received great response from local residents. Through these activities, the corporation is coexisting with the local community and fulfilling its social responsibility.

We have also achieved remarkable results in the area of transparent management. In 2023, we became the first local public enterprise to simultaneously obtain ISO 37001 (anti-corruption) and ISO 37301 (compliance) management system certifications, thereby strengthening ethical management and reliability. We have also promoted communication with stakeholders and secured fairness through the operation of the Citizens’ Committee and the Recruitment Verification Committee. Through these efforts, the corporation is becoming a model of transparency and ethical management.

CEO Do Soon-goo said, “The publication of this Sustainability Management Report will be an opportunity to fully publicize Sejong City Transit Corporation’s ESG management,” and added, “We will continue to transparently share ESG performance and engage in various activities that have a positive impact on the local community and the environment.”

Sejong City Transportation Corporation plans to continue to be a leading organization in ESG management and provide innovative and responsible public services for a sustainable future. By doing so, it will have a positive impact on the local community and the environment and fulfill its social responsibility as a public corporation.
