The Local Public Institution Innovation Awards Competition is a place to select institutions that have contributed to improving management efficiency and resident services through innovation and reform in the public sector. This competition, which was held in five fields targeting local public institutions nationwide, selected excellent institutions through document screening and PT presentation screening. Sejong Facilities Corporation received high evaluations for various innovative cases such as increasing public interest through integrated operation of sewage and wastewater treatment facilities, efficient management of Sejong Lake and Central Park, establishment of integrated parking control system, and systematic management of management performance (KPI).
In particular, the operation of Sejong Lake and Central Park was noted as a representative case of innovation. While reducing the operating personnel by 40% and the budget by 30%, the level of citizen service was improved. The corporation succeeded in improving the satisfaction of citizens by improving existing inefficient practices, creating barefoot walking paths, creating a water park, and improving nighttime scenery. This achievement is evaluated as a case of harmonious realization of management efficiency and citizen-oriented services.
Chairman Cho So-yeon said, “This award is recognition of the corporation’s continuous efforts to innovate for the local community and citizens,” and added, “We will continue to innovate the way we manage and operate public facilities through public-private cooperation and digital transformation.” He added, “We will use this achievement as a stepping stone to provide better services to Sejong citizens and strive to become a model case for local public institutions nationwide.”
This award by Sejong Facilities Corporation will be recorded as an exemplary case that shows that local public institutions can pursue publicness and efficiency at the same time through innovation. We look forward to their future endeavors.
