Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) was selected as an excellent local government in the ‘2024 Local Price Stability Management Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and its policy efforts to stabilize prices were recognized.
The ‘Local Price Stability Management Evaluation’ is an evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety every year on 243 local governments nationwide to promote regional price stability. It comprehensively reflects quantitative evaluations such as public utility rate increase rates and operation of reasonable price stores, as well as qualitative evaluations such as efforts to eradicate overcharges during the holiday season and survey and disclosure of price information.
Jungnang-gu has taken proactive measures to eradicate overcharges, such as operating a “baggage fee center” at the Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, which was visited by 3.03 million people this year, to maintain food prices at the same level as market prices. In addition, it has been highly evaluated for stabilizing prices in the region by expanding the designation of good-price stores and providing customized product support to each store. As a result of these efforts, Jungnang-gu has secured a special grant of 50 million won by receiving an “A” grade corresponding to the top 10% of each evaluation group. This is considered an important achievement for revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing the lives of residents.
