Yongin Special City 'Love Train Relay' Surpasses Half of Target Amount

Yongin Special City’s sharing campaign, ‘Love Train Relay’, has surpassed half of its goal with the participation of citizens and local organizations. As of the 27th, 678.82 million won has been raised, delivering warmth to needy neighbors in the region.

The representative sharing campaign of Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il), ‘Love Train Relay’, is quickly moving towards its goal with the interest and participation of citizens. At the donation ceremony held in the city hall reception room on the 27th, 7 organizations donated money, further raising the temperature of love.

The organizations that participated in the donation ceremony that day were ▲Yongin Urban Corporation and Yongin Urban Corporation Labor Union (donation of 16 million won), ▲Yongin Industry Co., Ltd. (donation of 10 million won), ▲Yongin Special City Waste Collection and Transport Association (donation of 10 million won), ▲Jisol R.E.H. (donation of 10 million won), ▲Yongin City Social Economy Association (donation of 5 million won), ▲Yongin City Veterinary Association (donation of 5 million won), ▲Apple Tree Co., Ltd. (donation of 3 million won), etc.

Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin Special City said, “We will not forget the passionate participation of citizens who raised 1.9 billion won, which greatly exceeded the target amount of 1.2 billion won last year,” and “This year, we raised the target amount to 1.3 billion won, but thanks to the warm hearts of citizens and companies, more than half of the amount was raised within a month of the start of the campaign.” He continued, “I would like to express my gratitude to the organizations that readily stepped forward to donate, and I emphasize that this donation will give courage and hope to our neighbors in need.”

The money and goods raised in this campaign will be provided to vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities in the region through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea. The ‘Love Train Relay’ is scheduled to continue until February 7th of next year amid the steady interest of citizens.

The city plans to continue to cooperate with the local community to further spread the culture of sharing and to spare no support to help struggling neighbors regain hope.
