Asan City received the Minister of Public Administration and Security Award in the category of ‘2024 Safety Policy and Life Safety Contribution’. This is a great achievement in which Asan City was the only one selected among all metropolitan cities and basic autonomous bodies nationwide.
This award is a result of Asan City’s high recognition for its contribution to eliminating blind spots in safety and spreading a safety culture by prioritizing the safety of citizens, actively utilizing the safety reporting system, and eliminating risk factors in advance.

Asan City actively promoted the ‘Safety Reporter App’ to citizens so that anyone can report safety-related issues anytime and anywhere. In addition, it closely monitored reported information and responded quickly through a cooperative system between related departments, thereby minimizing accidents and reducing citizens’ anxiety.
Acting Asan Mayor Cho Il-gyo said, “The safety of our citizens is the top priority that we must protect,” and added, “I pledge to make Asan even safer with this award.” He added, “We will continue to create an environment where citizens can live with peace of mind.”
Asan City plans to use this award as a stepping stone to further spread safety culture with its citizens and to continue implementing various policies to establish itself as a safe city.
