Geumsan-gun has made every effort to prevent blind spots in welfare through the 2024 Living Security Committee . Through 22 meetings, it decided to provide support to 592 people, including basic living security recipients and emergency support recipients , and focused on strengthening the social welfare safety net .

The Geumsan-gun Living Security Committee is comprised of eight members, including social welfare experts, public interest representatives , and administrative agency officials , in accordance with the National Basic Living Security Act . The committee prepares support measures for residents in welfare blind spots and plays a pivotal role in establishing Geumsan-gun’s social welfare safety net .
In 2024, the Living Security Committee held a total of 22 meetings to deliberate and decide on matters regarding 151 people from 121 households receiving basic living security and 277 people from 170 households receiving emergency support . In the process, various complex cases were carefully reviewed to ensure the welfare rights of residents .
The committee worked to secure the rights of residents who had not received support due to family breakdown and property calculation issues . In the basic livelihood security agenda, it focused on discussing cases of family breakdown such as refusal or avoidance of support obligations , de facto divorce, and items to be excluded from property calculations .
In addition , in the emergency support agenda, we closely examined issues such as the appropriateness of support , meeting the extension criteria , and recovering those who exceeded the criteria . In particular , in cases where emergency support was guaranteed in advance, we thoroughly checked whether the requirements were met to increase the effectiveness of the support .
A Geumsan County official said, “ We are supporting vulnerable groups who urgently need economic assistance but are not protected by legal regulations through the deliberation committee . ” He also emphasized , “ We will do our best to eliminate blind spots in welfare and build a tight social security safety net . ”
Through these efforts, Geumsan County is ensuring the welfare rights of residents and preparing various support measures that can overcome institutional limitations .
The efforts of the Geumsan-gun Living Security Committee are faithfully achieving the two goals of eliminating blind spots in welfare in the region and supporting vulnerable groups . The committee’s performance throughout 2024 is expected to provide practical help to local residents and contribute to building a more stable social welfare safety net .
