Yongin Special City, Cheoin-gu announced on the 2nd that it has completed the construction of heavy snow prevention facilities (canopies) on the overpass in front of the Samga-dong City Hall and the overpass in Chohyeon (Samgye) in Mohyeon-eup. This project is a measure to resolve traffic inconvenience caused by snow and rain and ensure the safety of citizens, and additional installations are planned in the future.

Yongin Special City, Cheoin-gu announced that it has completed the installation of heavy snow prevention facilities on overpasses that have been underway since last year. A total of 270 million won was invested to install canopy facilities on two overpasses: the overpass in front of the city hall in Samga-dong and the overpass in Chohyeon (Samgye) in Mohyeon-eup, Cheoin-gu.
The heavy snow prevention facility was installed to reduce the inconvenience and safety risk of pedestrian overpass users when it snows or rains. With the canopy installed, it is expected that citizens using the overpass will be able to pass comfortably and safely even in bad weather.

Starting with the installation of these two overpasses, the city of Cheoin plans to secure additional budget in the future to expand the installation of heavy snow prevention facilities to other overpasses in areas without canopy facilities.
A former official said, “In order to improve the pedestrian overpass environment, we have installed canopy facilities on major pedestrian overpasses in the region,” and “Through this construction, we will have created safe facilities to prepare for snow and rain, which will allow citizens to use the overpasses more conveniently.”
This project is being evaluated as a concrete plan to improve the convenience of travel within the region and reduce inconvenience to citizens due to bad weather.
