Jung-gu, '2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter' Sharing Hands Continue

The warm sharing of residents, groups, and companies continues in the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter’ campaign promoted by Jung-gu, Seoul. From November 15 to the present, about 780 million won has been raised, and the donations and goods will be used to support vulnerable groups during the winter.

The ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter’ campaign promoted by Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Gil-seong Kim) is progressing smoothly with the active participation of residents, organizations, and companies. The campaign began on November 15, 2023, and about 780 million won in donations has been raised so far.

On November 20, Jung-gu Office installed the first donation kiosk and took the first step toward activating donations. Then, on December 23, a special Christmas campaign was held at K-Plaza in front of Seoul Central Post Office, guiding citizens on how to use the donation kiosk and how to participate in sharing. In addition, newsletters on sharing projects were distributed to approximately 150 companies in Jung-gu, encouraging active participation.

Many corporate and individual sponsors participated in this campaign. I-Pis Foreign Exchange Brokerage Co., Ltd. increased its donation from the previous year to 30 million won, and Korea Capital Co., Ltd. donated 20 million won. Hotel Shilla Co., Ltd. donated 115 winter blankets (valued at 6.47 million won) to vulnerable groups in Jangchung-dong and Dasan-dong. Urban Architecture General Construction Co., Ltd. and International Lions Clubs Association District 354-A, Region 2, Region 7 Association each donated 10 million won and 70 boxes of ramen (valued at 2 million won).

The warm hands of individual sponsors also followed. Elderly Jo Yang (80 years old) donated 40 million won to help the underprivileged in Jung-gu and 20 million won to operate welfare facilities.

Food sharing is also continuing steadily. Yeongrak Church donated 450 boxes of kimchi (worth 20 million won), and the Korean Red Cross donated 213 boxes of kimchi (worth 10 million won) to help the elderly living alone and the disabled. Myeongryeheon, a youth rice cake shop, donated 3,540 rice cakes (worth 2.22 million won) to senior centers and welfare facilities.

Kim Gil-seong, the mayor of Jung-gu, expressed his gratitude for the warm sharing by residents, organizations, and companies, and said he would do his best to ensure that the donations and goods collected through donation kiosks and other means are delivered to those in need.
