Ongjin County (Governor Moon Gyeong-bok) held a New Year’s pilgrimage at the Naval Battle Monument in Yeongheung-myeon on the 2nd, announcing a powerful start to the year of Eulsa in 2025.
About 100 people attended the pilgrimage, including Governor Moon Kyung-bok, Ongjin County Council Chairman Lee Ui-myeong, Incheon City Council Member Shin Young-hee, heads of veterans’ organizations, and heads of local organizations. They pledged their love for the country and their determination to develop the county administration, and performed a series of rituals such as paying silent tribute to the patriotic ancestors, offering flowers, and burning incense. In addition, a moment of silence was held to commemorate the victims of the Muju Jeju Air disaster, adding to its meaning.

Before the visit, Governor Moon Kyung-bok met with Ongjin County officials at Hamsang Park and delivered New Year’s greetings to begin the fourth year of the 8th local government. Governor Moon emphasized, “Let’s make the year of Eulsa a year of great leap forward together with the 600 or so public officials of Ongjin County,” and expressed his determination for the new year.
