The universities that have signed agreements with the district are ▲Seoul Digital University ▲Kyunghee Cyber University ▲Soongsil Cyber University ▲Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies ▲Sejong Cyber University, a total of five universities.
The district explained, “We are expanding educational cooperation with Cyber University as Cyber University operates its undergraduate program 100% online, allowing students to study stably and conveniently without time and location constraints.”
Since signing the first agreement with Seoul Digital University in 2021, the city has been gradually expanding its agreements, including signing additional agreements with Kyunghee and Soongsil Cyber University in 2023 and Sejong and Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in 2024, thereby broadening the range of learning options for residents.
Through collaboration with these universities, all Yangcheon-gu residents can receive a 30% discount on tuition each semester. The deadline for applying to cyber universities varies slightly by school, so please contact the university admissions office for more information.
Meanwhile, in order to help middle-aged and older people acquire professional qualifications and connect with employment, the district has been operating a social worker qualification course in collaboration with Baekseok Cultural University since August. Through this, Yangcheon-gu residents can receive scholarships equivalent to 30% of their tuition each semester, and can also receive additional benefits from national scholarships. After completing the course, they can also obtain a level 2 social worker qualification.
In addition, we are strengthening cooperation with external educational institutions such as excellent domestic universities and cyber universities to provide high-quality lifelong education programs to residents, such as operating the relay lecture ‘Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch’ in which Seoul National University professors directly lecture.
Yangcheon-gu Mayor Lee Ki-jae said, “The collaboration with Cyber University is a great opportunity for residents to begin learning at their desired time without financial burden,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various programs and support measures to promote lifelong education.”
