The Yeonsu-gu Cheonghak-dong Safety Council ( Chairmen Jang Hee-kyung and Bae Jeong-hyeon ) held the ‘2024 Cheonghak-dong Safety Council Performance Sharing Meeting ‘ at the local administrative welfare center on the 27th with approximately 50 local residents and officials in attendance .
This event was organized to look back on the achievements of various safety projects promoted by the council in 2024 and discuss future directions .
The event began with the national anthem, followed by ▲ screening of activity videos , ▲ announcement of achievements and sharing of best practices , and ▲ announcement of future plans .

The Cheonghak-dong Safety Council was formed in August of last year with approximately 40 members from eight self-organized organizations in Cheonghak-dong after Yeonsu-gu was selected as a pilot local government for the national project ‘ Eup , Myeon , and Dong Smart Welfare and Safety Service Improvement Model Development Support Project . ‘
The council was divided into three divisions: planning , safety , and support , and worked to eliminate blind spots in disaster safety by promoting various projects such as ▲ installation of old leakage circuit breakers and gas leak detectors , ▲ operation of risk factor investigation teams , ▲ safety education , and ▲ disaster prevention campaigns .
In particular , during the heavy snowfall last November , the council took the lead in resolving local issues by minimizing damage through preemptive response activities such as discovering vulnerable elements through a preemptive campaign and stocking up on calcium chloride in advance in snow removal boxes .
Bae Jeong-hyeon, the chair of the council, said that all of these achievements were possible thanks to the active participation of residents and cooperation between the public and private sectors , and that he would continue to work with residents to create a safe Cheonghak-dong .
Yeonsu-gu District Mayor Lee Jae-ho said in his words of encouragement, “ I look forward to the active activities of the Cheonghak-dong Safety Council to prepare for disasters in advance next year as well . ”
