Asan City has been operating a joint incense burner in the open courtyard of the Onyang Hot Springs Station Visitor Center to mourn the victims who tragically lost their lives in the Jeju Air passenger plane crash on December 31.
The joint incense-burning altar was constantly visited by citizens who wanted to mourn the victims, and local politicians including Acting Asan Mayor Cho Il-kyo, City Council Speaker Hong Seong-pyo, and National Assembly members Bok Gi-wang and Kang Hoon-sik also visited to pay their respects to the victims.

According to Asan City, a total of 1,620 citizens visited to pay their respects over the two days until January 1st.
The joint incense-burning altar will be open until January 4th, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Acting Mayor Cho Il-kyo said, “Many people are visiting the joint incense-burning altar to pray for the souls of the victims,” and added, “We will do our best to operate it meticulously until the end so that visitors can pay their respects smoothly.”
Asan City expresses its deepest condolences to the victims and their families through the operation of a joint incense-burning altar, and hopes that the bereaved families will be able to find some comfort.
