Incheon Namdong-gu held a 2025 opening ceremony at the district office auditorium at 9:00 AM on the 2nd with approximately 500 employees in attendance and made resolutions for the new year .

Namdong-gu District Mayor Park Jong-hyo said in his New Year’s address, “ I will prioritize ‘ resident safety and livelihood stability ’ and focus on building a tight welfare network and devising measures to revitalize the local economy . ”

He continued, “ Although the domestic and international conditions are not ideal , if 1,300 public officials work together with one mind to demonstrate their capabilities, we will be able to create a happy 2025 for our citizens . ”

After the city inauguration ceremony, Mayor Park and senior civil servants visited the joint incense burner set up at the Incheon Aettel Lawn Plaza in front of Incheon City Hall to pay tribute to the victims of the passenger plane disaster .
