On January 2 , 2025 , Geumsan County Governor Park Beom-in began his first official schedule of the new year by visiting the Chilbaek Memorial Hall , Chungnyeongsa Shrine , and Yukbaekgoji Chunghontap in succession . This visit was an opportunity to commemorate the sacrifices of the past and pledge to make a new leap forward for the people of Geumsan County .

The Chilbaek Tomb is a historical site where the remains of General Jo Heon and 700 other doctors who died during the Imjin War are enshrined . Chungnyeongsa Shrine is a cemetery facility designated by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs , and houses the memorial tablets of 596 patriotic spirits who sacrificed themselves for the country . The Yukbaekgoji Chunghontap is a memorial tower built to commemorate the fierce battle to suppress guerrillas that took place in Geumsan during the Korean War .
Governor Park said during his visit that day, “ I will strive to foster the happiness of Geumsan County residents and realize my vision for the future in the Year of the Blue Snake in 2025, which symbolizes maturity and advancement . ” Around 70 people , including Deputy Governor Heo Chang-deok, county officials, and heads of local organizations , participated in the visit , making it an opportunity to strengthen solidarity in the local community .

Park Beom-in, the governor of Geumsan County, emphasized , “ I will boldly challenge myself for the development of Geumsan County and a better life for its citizens, while keeping in mind the noble intentions of those who sacrificed themselves for the country . ” His choice of visiting the shrine as his first activity of the New Year clearly demonstrates his determination to take a new leap forward for the local community .
