Incheon Namdong-gu will operate a disaster safety situation room on a permanent basis from January 1st of this year to strengthen the disaster response system .

Namdong-gu announced on the 2nd that it recently renovated the disaster safety situation room and held an opening ceremony to operate it on a permanent basis .
The Disaster and Safety Situation Room is located on the 4th floor of the Namdong-gu Office Building and is responsible for rapid and systematic disaster situation management in the event of a disaster .

The city established a disaster safety system within the situation room and assigned four personnel dedicated to the situation room .
It is expected that the disaster response management system will be further strengthened by maintaining a 24/7 situation management system and strengthening the cooperative system through continuous operation .
At the opening ceremony of the Disaster and Safety Situation Room, senior public officials including District Mayor Park Jong-hyo attended and reported on the status of the situation room maintenance and demonstrated the situation room system .
Next , a meeting was held to discuss safety management measures and other operational directions for the permanent operation of the Disaster and Safety Situation Room from 2025 and response to natural disasters in winter .
Mayor Park Jong-hyo said, “ We will operate a disaster safety situation room 24 hours a day , 365 days a year to respond quickly to disaster situations such as heavy rain , heavy snow , fire , and crowd accidents , and systematically deal with the initial situation in the event of a disaster to thoroughly manage safety. ” He added, “ We will continue to do our best to protect the lives and property of our residents . ”
