National Tomorrow Learning Card Training Cost Additional Support Expanded from 1 Million Won to 2 Million Won

Starting January 1, 2025, the National Tomorrow Learning Card’s training fee additional support limit will be expanded from 1 million won to 2 million won. The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that through this revision, it will provide more training opportunities to citizens who want to prepare for employment and improve their job skills.

Previously, if the training account limit of 3 million won was used up, additional support of up to 1 million won was available. However, with this revision, additional support of up to 2 million won is available, so citizens can receive support of up to 5 million won in total (basic 3 million won + additional 2 million won). This revision aims to expand training opportunities for the employment vulnerable.

The target of training cost support has also been significantly expanded. Temporary and short-term workers with unstable employment, workers in employment crisis areas, and workers in special employment support industries can now receive training cost support. In particular, for youth outside the home, the self-payment rate has been relaxed to strengthen training cost support. As long as their admission to housing and welfare facilities is confirmed, they can receive training at a lower self-payment rate (5-55%) than general trainees, which is expected to reduce their financial burden.

In addition, in the past, there were many cases where job seekers had difficulty receiving the training they wanted due to restrictions on some training courses. However, this revision will allow job seekers to choose training courses related to the unemployed as remote training, which is expected to expand opportunities for job seekers to participate in training.
