Dongdaemun-gu Public Health Center has contributed to improving the health behavior of the elderly through active face -to-face and non -face-to-face health management services such as various promotional strategies, operation of customized health classes , provision of digital content , and case management of frail elderly people . This achievement was highly evaluated and was honored with the grand prize at this performance sharing contest .
The ‘AI·IoT -based Senior Health Management Project ‘ began as a pilot project in April 2021, and 1,602 seniors over 65 years of age in Dongdaemun-gu have participated so far . The project helps seniors manage their own health by utilizing the ‘ Today’s Health ‘ mobile app and smart devices ( three types , including a wrist activity tracker ) .
Health management involves specialized personnel such as nurses , nutritionists , and exercise instructors , and provides customized health management services for each target group, leading to efficient health improvement . Through this, seniors can strengthen their health management capabilities in their daily lives and receive systematic management .
Considering the elderly who have difficulty using smartphones or have low specifications, Dongdaemun-gu provided AI speakers . A total of 150 elderly people were provided with AI speakers, enabling them to not only monitor their health but also provide emotional support and respond to emergencies . This type of digital technology support greatly contributed to expanding the accessibility of businesses and providing practical help to the elderly in their daily lives .
Dongdaemun-gu has been continuously achieving results in the digital healthcare field . In 2022 , it won the grand prize in the ‘AI·IoT -based Elderly Health Management Project ‘ category at the Digital Healthcare Achievement Competition hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Social Security Information Service . In 2023, it was the first public health center in the country to promote robot rehabilitation services for the disabled, winning the ‘ Ministry of Health and Welfare Excellence Award for the Disabled Health Management Project ‘ and the ‘ Public Procurement Service Innovation Competition Encouragement Award ‘ .
With this award, Dongdaemun-gu has solidified its leading position in the public digital healthcare sector by winning the award for the third consecutive year .
Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung said , “ I am very happy to have received an award in the digital healthcare field for three years in a row, and I feel a great sense of responsibility ,” and added, “ This achievement is the result of the district’s continuous efforts to promote the health of seniors and the use of digital technology . ” He also emphasized, “ We will continue to pursue various policies so that seniors can enjoy a healthy and happy old age in Dongdaemun-gu . ”
