This Art Hub Invitational Exhibition is being held at “SPACE H” in Namyangju-si. Art Hub CEO Lee Chang-soo said in his opening remarks, “Between the two years of 2024 and 2025, there will be memories full of joy and accomplishment, but there will also be moments when we had to face difficulties and challenges. In this way, time trains us and gives us the strength to move forward anew. And now, we stand at another threshold, a new borderline.
‘Seed; The gap of time, the knot of space’ aims to illuminate the moments of possibility and change that bloom in these boundaries. The small ‘seeds’ we discover in our time, space, and relationships provide energy to move forward toward a new future.
The word ‘seed’ itself symbolizes the beginning and potential. It is so small that it is invisible, but the life force contained within it is infinite. And the process in which ‘seeds’ take root in the ground and sprout is done through cracks and knots. This exhibition said that through artistic exploration of the cracks in time and the knots in space, it aims to help all of us plant seeds of hope for tomorrow.
The participating painters unfold their personal and collective stories in time and space on their works. The works of about 10 mid-career painters do not simply reflect on the past, but metaphorically express how the ‘seeds’ of hope each of them holds are blooming. The lines, colors, and shapes that cross the screen are an attempt to record memories of 2024 while cautiously opening up possibilities for 2025.
Arthub CEO Lee Chang-soo wants to provide the audience with an opportunity to revisit their own stories between the past and the future through this exhibition. While looking back on the difficulties and challenges of the past year, he will provide time to plant new seeds based on the learnings and achievements discovered in it. The moment each emotion born in the gap of time and the relationships blooming in the knots of space meet the audience through the work, art grows into another ‘seed.’ This exhibition will awaken us to the possibilities of the gaps that we have forgotten and overlooked, and the energy created through the knots of relationships, and will be a place to plant new hope and inspiration.
