The most notable project is the **Asan Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project (Phase 3)**, which invested a total of 48.5 billion won. This facility has expanded its existing daily treatment capacity of 72,000㎥ by an additional 11,000㎥, enabling a total treatment of 83,000㎥ of sewage. This has enabled stable treatment of sewage for 209,000 people in surrounding areas including the downtown area, Sinchang-myeon, and Songak-myeon.

In addition, the Sanjeon District Small-Scale Public Sewage Treatment Facility , which cost 7.5 billion won, was completed in December. It was originally planned as a small-scale sewage treatment facility for villages, but was changed to be connected to the existing Dunpo Public Sewage Treatment Facility. In the process, 6.3 km of sewage pipes and 213 individual drainage facilities were installed, making complete separate sewage treatment possible for the Sanjeon-ri and Gwande-ri areas of Dunpo-myeon.

Prior to this, in September, the expansion project of the Yeongin public sewage treatment facility was completed at a cost of 10.8 billion won. This facility was expanded from the existing 430㎥/day treatment capacity to an additional 270㎥/day, expanding the total capacity to 700㎥/day. Through this, the stability of sewage treatment in the areas of Asan-ri, Shinun-ri, and Baekseokpo-ri in Yeongin-myeon was further strengthened.

These projects are securing a total of 17.6 billion won in national funds and are contributing to improving the water quality of local rivers and the living conditions of residents through timely facility expansion and efficient operation. In particular, the integration and linkage treatment with existing public sewage treatment facilities are noteworthy in that they maximize efficiency.

An official from Asan City said, “We will continue to do our best to secure national funds and proactively expand public sewage treatment facilities,” and “Based on this, we will continue to pursue balanced regional development and water quality improvement.”

This expansion and new installation of sewage treatment facilities is expected to be an important milestone in Asan City’s environmental management policy. A stable sewage treatment system and environmental improvement are expected to make a substantial contribution to improving the quality of life of local residents.
