Yongin City designated Boka (Bojeong-dong Cafe Street) and Maenaemaeul Shopping Street as Alley Shopping Streets 1 and 2 in October of this year, and in November, ‘Onnuri Shopping Street’ in Sinbong-dong and ‘Bojeong Center Shopping Street’ in Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu as No. 3 and 4, and ‘Onnuri Shopping Street’ in Seongbok-dong and ‘Dunjeon-ri Shopping Street’ in Pogok-eup as No. 5 and 6.

Alley-type shopping districts are areas where small business-run stores are densely located to a certain degree, and can receive various benefits, such as registering as a member of the Onnuri Gift Certificate and participating in business environment improvement and revitalization support projects, just like traditional markets and shopping districts.

The city plans to discover and designate eight additional alley-type shopping districts next year to expand the foundation for revitalizing local commercial districts.
