Cheonan Science Industry Promotion Agency holds 'Cheonan Innovation Platform Convergence Conference' to discover new future industries

Cheonan Science and Industry Promotion Agency (President Hwang Gyu-il, hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Agency) announced that it will hold the **’Cheonan Innovation Platform Convergence Conference’** on December 10th at Shilla Stay Cheonan with the theme of **’Discovering Cheonan’s Future New Industries through Creative Convergence’**.

This conference will be attended by various experts and relevant parties to discover new future industries in Cheonan and suggest directions for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. In-depth discussions will be held focusing on the fields of future medical care and future mobility.

The conference’s main presentations will be given by authorities in each field.

• Professor Lee Min-Jeong of Korea University will highlight the current status and potential of cutting-edge medical technology under the theme of **’Future Medical Technology Trends: Current Status and Promising Technologies’**.
• KDI’s expert committee member, Cha Dan-bi, announces **’Government policies and directions related to future healthcare’** and shares the direction of government support.
• Kim Kyung-yu, Director of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, said, **’Changes in the Automobile Industry Paradigm and the Direction of Government Support’**,
• Kim Se-jong, Vice President of UM Mobility, presents the technology trends of future mobility under the theme of **’Current autonomous driving technology level and direction’**.

In-depth discussion session

The conference will be divided into two sessions following the opening remarks.

1. Future medical industry direction and new industry discovery
   • Experts including Professor Son Young-ah of Chungnam National University, Professor Ahn Jin-cheol of Dankook University, and Professor Kim Young-mok of Konyang University discuss the future of Cheonan’s medical industry and ways to discover new industries.
2. Future mobility industry direction and new industry discovery
   • Leaders in each field, including Director Yoon Yeo-seong of the Korea Automobile Research Institute and Chairman Lee Seon-woo of the Korea ESG Management Certification Institute, discuss changes in the mobility industry and opportunities for Cheonan.

A new horizon for the development of Cheonan’s new industries

Through this conference, the Promotion Agency plans to explore various ways to discover new industries in Cheonan and strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. In particular, it discussed the direction of development in the future medical and mobility sectors and announced its goal of laying the foundation for Cheonan to grow into a cutting-edge industrial city.

President Hwang Gyu-il emphasized, “This conference will be an important forum for discussion to consider the future of Cheonan and find new growth engines,” and “I hope that many experts and officials will actively participate and present practical solutions.”
