Incheon Seo-gu (District Mayor Kang Beom-seok) announced on the 20th that it will promote a project to support the installation of IoT air pollution prevention facilities in small businesses by 2025 to create a clean air environment. To this end, it has secured a budget of approximately 590 million won, the largest among the counties and districts of Incheon City.
This project focuses on reducing the financial burden on small businesses by providing subsidies of up to 90% of the cost of installing Internet of Things (IoT) measuring devices in existing Class 4 and 5 air emission (prevention) facilities.
The West has achieved the greatest results among the counties and districts of Incheon City by providing a total of 29.5 billion won in support to 482 small and medium-sized enterprises’ air pollution facilities over the past six years. Through this, it has established a foundation for constant monitoring to reduce air pollutant emissions and ensure proper operation of prevention facilities.
The support target is the existing 4th and 5th class air emission business establishments that are subject to mandatory installation of IoT measuring devices by June 30, 2025 among small and medium-sized enterprises that have received a report (permit) for the installation of air emission facilities located in Seo-gu, Incheon. The target business establishments are those that began operation before May 3, 2022.
Businesses wishing to participate in the project should refer to the announcement and submit an application for project participation and related documents to the Environmental Management Division of Seo-gu Office from December 23, 2020 to January 15, 2025.
The business sites that have been accepted will undergo document review and on-site evaluation. During the evaluation process, experts will comprehensively review the design and installation appropriateness of the IoT measuring device, the business site’s will to improve, etc., and the support target will be selected through a final review by the local subsidy review committee.
A Western official said, “We will actively support small businesses to ease their financial burden and allow them to operate their facilities stably,” adding, “We will do our best to create a sustainable environment where businesses and the environment coexist through thorough aftercare for the supported facilities for three years.”
