Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Gil-seong Kim) announced on the 27th that it had secured 3.47 billion won in special adjustment grants from the Seoul Metropolitan Government. This budget is planned to be invested intensively to strengthen the safety net for residents and improve the conditions for physical activities.

First, to prevent safety accidents, ▲replacement of CCTV for crime prevention (KRW 600 million) and ▲installation of sewer manhole safety facilities (KRW 450 million) projects will be promoted. The district plans to replace 200 old CCTVs installed in crime-vulnerable areas and children’s protection zones with the latest high-definition cameras. This will help prevent crimes and safety accidents in dark alleys and blind spots in advance, and enable rapid responses when incidents occur.

In addition, to prevent accidents caused by heavy rain, fall prevention facilities will be installed in sewer manholes and old concrete manholes will be replaced. This is a measure to ensure the safety of residents and prepare for disaster situations due to climate change.

In order to improve the conditions for physical activities, ▲improvement of old public sports facilities (KRW 400 million) and ▲creation of a Seoul-type screen park golf course (KRW 2.02 billion) projects will also be promoted. The indoor swimming pools of Chungmu Sports Center and Hoehyeon Sports Center will replace underwater cleaners and coolers that have exceeded their service life, and install underwater ramps for the safety of the elderly.

In addition, a project to build a Seoul-style screen park golf course will be promoted so that people can enjoy sports activities regardless of the weather or season in the city. The project is scheduled to begin in earnest as soon as the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s guidelines are established.

Kim Gil-seong, the mayor of Jung-gu, emphasized, “Ensuring the safety of residents is the most basic and important responsibility,” and “We will do our best to build a tight safety net and prevent disasters and accidents through this special adjustment grant.” He added, “We will continue to work to improve sports infrastructure so that residents can live healthy and energetic lives.”

Jung-gu expects that these projects will achieve great results in improving residents’ safety and living infrastructure.
