Yeongdeungpo-gu was selected as an excellent organization and received an award of encouragement in the evaluation of the ‘AI·IoT-based Senior Citizen Health Management Project’ hosted by the Korea Social Security Information Service on the 17th. This award is a result of recognition of the achievement of actively utilizing digital technology to greatly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of senior citizen health management.
The evaluation was conducted on 178 public health centers nationwide, and Yeongdeungpo-gu received high marks for its digital health management performance utilizing the ‘Mobile Health Center System (MPHIS)’. It systematically managed the health data of the elderly through Bluetooth-based digital devices such as tablet PCs, blood pressure monitors, scales, and activity trackers, and provided non-face-to-face health management services, which attracted attention.

In particular, this technology has contributed to significantly reducing the workload of visiting nurses and increasing the efficiency of health care. Through this, the district has strengthened the self-health care capacity of the elderly and supported the promotion of health of local residents.
The core of the business is to help seniors manage their own health by checking their health status in real time through Bluetooth-based digital devices and the ‘Today’s Health’ app. Through this, seniors can easily record and monitor data such as blood pressure and blood sugar, and the district provides customized health management services based on this.
In addition to this award, Yeongdeungpo-gu is also promoting various welfare projects that comprehensively support the health and safety of vulnerable groups by utilizing smart voice recognition switches, AI-based health check-up services, and smart plugs. These efforts are greatly contributing to improving the quality of life of local residents.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “This award is a valuable result of our efforts in senior health management and utilizing digital technology,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to expand healthcare projects utilizing smart technologies such as AI and IoT so that all residents can live healthy and happy lives.”
