This exhibition is centered around traditional folk paintings expressed with refreshing colors and gorgeous details. The works featuring butterflies, flowers, and natural landscapes stand out with the artist’s unique delicate expressiveness and harmonious colors. In particular, the natural margins and soft brush strokes give each work a sense of warmth and tranquility.
Artist Son Gye-hwa is a regular member of the Korean Folk Painting Association and an artist approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He has won numerous awards at the National Hwa-ryong Art Competition and the Republic of Korea Folk Painting Competition. He has also contributed to the popularization of folk painting through various group and individual exhibitions.
He has recently taken the lead in promoting the appeal of folk painting by participating in several exhibitions, including the ‘Beautiful Companion Exhibition’ and the ‘Korean Folk Painting Association Member Exhibition’. This solo exhibition is a valuable opportunity to see the fruits of his artistic passion and effort in one place.
