Seongnam City (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced on January 6 that it will sell 500 billion won worth of Seongnam Love Gift Certificates at a 10% discount within the first quarter (January to March). Citizens can purchase gift certificates at a discount of up to 500,000 won per month, and they can be used in various forms such as mobile, card, and paper gift certificates.

Seongnam City announced on the 3rd that it will sell 500 billion won worth of ‘Seongnam Love Gift Certificates’ at a 10% discount starting January 6th. This measure was created as a way to promote local economic revitalization and reduce household financial burdens for citizens amid the ongoing economic downturn.

Mobile gift certificates can be purchased through the ‘Local Gift Certificate Chak’ app from 6 AM on the 6th, and the card-type gift certificate ‘Seongnam Love Card’ can be issued and recharged at 49 locations including NH Nonghyup Bank and Nonghyup and Livestock Cooperatives from 9 AM on the same day.

Paper gift certificates can be purchased from 9:00 AM on the 8th at 120 designated retailers including NH Nonghyup Bank, Nonghyup Bank, National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, Shinhyup Bank, and Saemaul Geumgo. You must bring your ID when purchasing.

The monthly purchase limit is 500,000 won, and citizens can purchase a 10,000 won gift certificate for 9,000 won, receiving a maximum benefit of 50,000 won.

Seongnam Love Gift Certificates can be used like cash at affiliated stores such as traditional markets and small stores in the region. In addition, ordering and delivery services are also available through private delivery apps WeMakePrice and Meokkaebi, which are linked to the ‘Local Gift Certificate Chak’ app.

Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, “I hope that this discount sale of Seongnam Love Gift Certificates will not only reduce the burden on citizens’ household finances, but also serve as an opportunity to revitalize the stagnant local economy by promoting local consumption.”

Seongnam City aims to sell a total of 500 billion won in gift certificates within the first quarter of 2025, and expects this to provide practical help to local small business owners and traditional market merchants.
