Yongin Special City 2024 Environmental Service Award to 81 People

Yongin Special City announced that it held the ‘2024 Year-End Environmental Service Award Ceremony’ at the City Hall Convention Hall on the 30th and awarded awards to 81 people who contributed to the environmental field, including ecosystem conservation, resource circulation, and carbon neutrality.

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) awarded 81 people who have contributed to environmental protection and sustainable community development on the 30th, and encouraged their hard work. This award was given to individuals and groups who have contributed to environmental improvement in six areas: ecosystem conservation, environmental education, water quality protection, resource circulation, carbon neutrality, and environmental beautification.

At the award ceremony on that day, teachers and students who participated in and contributed to the Environment Day and Environmental Education Week events held in June, employees and individuals of organizations that took the lead in resource recycling and carbon neutrality activities, and sanitation workers who worked hard to keep the streets clean were selected as recipients.

Mayor Lee Sang-il personally presented the award and said, “Thanks to your dedicated efforts, Yongin City is achieving positive results in the environmental field.” He added, “I hope that your positive influence will spread to more citizens, leading to continued interest and participation in environmental protection activities.”

The mayor also expressed his condolences regarding the recent plane crash, saying, “I am deeply saddened by this shocking accident for the nation,” and “I hope that the citizens’ warm condolences will be conveyed to the victims and their bereaved families.”

Through this award ceremony, Yongin Special City plans to encourage citizens to participate in environmental protection and further strengthen the foundation for promoting sustainable environmental policies within the region.
