The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Jeong Geun-sik) unveiled the ‘AI Customized Smart Health Management Classroom’ operation model on January 10, and has set out to build a future-oriented student health management system. This helps to improve the health and physical fitness classroom operated in accordance with Article 9 of the School Sports Promotion Act, while allowing for selective application considering the budget and space constraints of schools. Over the past three years, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has supported a total budget of KRW 14.5 billion to build digital-based smart health management classrooms in 283 elementary, middle, and high schools. In the 2025 school year, a budget of KRW 1.1 billion has been secured to build 31 additional schools, and one of these schools will be designated as an AI Customized Health Management Classroom pilot operation model to conduct research.
