‘Clean Livestock Farm’ is designated as a farm that maintains a clean and sanitary livestock environment through proper management of livestock manure and minimization of odor. Such farms practice environmentally friendly livestock farming and are established as a model for sustainable livestock farming.
In particular, the Yeonam Mountain Livestock designated this time has played a leading role in various eco-friendly livestock fields such as antibiotic-free livestock product certification, HACCP (food safety management certification standard), and low-carbon livestock product certification. In addition, it is receiving attention as a model case for pig farms by scoring full marks in on-site evaluations through thorough cleanliness management inside and outside of the livestock shed and efforts to reduce odor.
Kim Jeong-gyu, head of the Asan City Agricultural Technology Center, said, “The designation of clean livestock farms plays an important role in increasing the sustainability of the livestock industry and reducing conflicts with local residents,” and added, “We will not spare any effort in continued promotion and support so that more livestock farms can participate.”
Asan City plans to actively promote environmental improvement support projects and systematic education programs to expand clean livestock farms in the future. Through this, it plans to enhance the positive image of the livestock industry and contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.
With this designation, Asan City is expected to establish itself as a leading city in eco-friendly livestock farming and further strengthen the foundation for coexistence between farmers and local residents.
