Geumsan-gun, 90 elementary and middle school students foster global talent through overseas language training

90 elementary and middle school students from Geumsan County will participate in an overseas language training program held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Singapore from January 16 to February 12. This training program is hosted by the Geumsan Education Love Scholarship Foundation ( Chairman Cho Shin-young ) , and 54 elementary school students and 36 middle school students from the county will participate .

This program, which aims to strengthen students’ global capabilities and improve English learning skills, is operated with 3.85 million won in support from Geumsan County and participating students paying 1.45 million won .

Participating students receive intensive English education through 10 regular classes per day , including 1:1 lessons with native speakers , group lessons , English editing , and vocabulary memorization tailored to their individual levels . In addition , local cultural tours are included three times in Singapore and twice in Malaysia, providing students with opportunities to broaden their global mindset .

Special programs also include specialized education in career paths , character , and leadership , which enable students to not only improve their language skills but also build self-confidence and cultivate leadership and communication skills required in a global society .

Geumsan County Governor Park Beom-in said, We will review ways to allow more students to participate in overseas language training in the future and do our best to strengthen the image of Geumsan as an educational city . Chairman Cho Shin-young also promised to do her best to run the training program, saying, We will do our best to ensure that the participating students complete the program safely and return .

This overseas language training is part of Geumsan-gun’s efforts to provide a global learning environment for local students and to foster international competitiveness . Geumsan-gun plans to continue to strengthen its position as an educational city through various educational programs and support to help students grow .
