Goyang Special City is promoting the ‘2025 Small-Scale Apartment Management Subsidy Support Project’ to create a safe and comfortable living environment for small-scale apartment complexes. The main purpose of this project is to support construction costs for maintenance of common areas and safety measures in apartment complexes.

The city has secured 32 million won (including 9.6 million won in provincial funds) in this year’s budget and plans to increase the budget through a supplementary budget in the first half of the year to expand the number of additional applicants.

The support target is small-scale apartment complexes built in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Act, including townhouses and multi-family houses that have been approved for use for more than 10 years. However, overlapping support with the ‘Apartment Management Subsidy Support Project’ currently being implemented by the Goyang Special City Housing Division is not permitted.

There are various types of construction that can be supported. ▲Maintenance of rooftop common areas (rooftop waterproofing, roof tiles, etc.) ▲Repair and replacement of outdoor auxiliary and welfare facilities (fences, drains, manholes, etc.) ▲Cost of dredging outdoor water and sewage pipes ▲Construction to improve the convenience of the elderly and the disabled ▲Construction to secure space for community activation ▲Replacement of outdoor common water pipes ▲Safety measures for outdoor facilities to prevent safety accidents ▲Energy saving facility improvement and improvement projects are included. However, only one type of construction can be applied for per apartment complex.

The final support targets will be selected through on-site inspections and screening by the Apartment Subsidy Support Review Committee in May for the submitted projects, and the selected apartment complexes will be eligible to receive support of up to 20 million won, up to 50% of the construction cost.

The application process is to visit the Goyang Special City Hall Architectural Policy and Architectural Guidance Team and submit an application form. The application form and instructions can be found on the Goyang Special City website (www.goyang.go.kr).

City officials stated, “In the case of small-scale apartment complexes, there are many cases where there is no management entity, making it difficult to maintain common areas,” and “Through this project, we plan to actively support citizens so that they can enjoy communal living in a safe and comfortable residential environment.”
