Goyang Special City is recruiting participating organizations and institutions for the ‘Whole Village Happy School’ and ‘Creating a Bright School Culture’ projects for 6th grade elementary school students and 1st grade middle school students. This contest will be held until the 27th, and the programs that are selected through evaluation among the programs submitted by educational organizations and private institutions will be applied to schools.
‘Onmaeul Happiness School’ consists of various experience-centered programs such as history, art, and nature (ecology), and ‘Creating a Bright School Culture’ is operated as a program that focuses on cultivating students’ emotions such as emotional control, relationship building, and conflict resolution. The two projects aim to provide practical educational support through cooperation between each department of Goyang City and private organizations.
The final selected program will be registered in the ‘One Click System’, an online integrated platform for educational resources in Goyang City, and elementary and middle schools in the city can apply for the program as needed. Through this, customized education that can be directly utilized in school education sites will be provided.
Last year, 5 Goyang City collaborating departments, 8 related organizations, and 63 private education organizations participated in these two projects, operating a total of 67 whole-village experience programs and 18 character and emotional programs. Students had various opportunities to experience things like app programming, Haengjusanseong Fortress story, healing experience farm education, and restorative life education trust circle, and among these, the ‘restorative life education trust circle’ program was evaluated as having a great effect in situations where students had difficulty forming relationships with each other.
This year, Goyang City plans to expand program support for the ‘Whole Village Happy School’ to all 6th graders in elementary schools in the city and the ‘Creating a Bright School Culture’ to all 1st graders in middle schools in order to increase the efficiency of the project.
A Goyang City official said, “We hope that more organizations and institutions will participate in this contest so that we can provide diverse and effective educational programs to students,” and “We will actively support students so that they can grow through various experiences and contribute to creating a healthy school culture.”
Organizations and institutions wishing to participate can check the application form and recruitment notice on the Goyang City website (https://www.goyang.go.kr).
