Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) Agricultural Technology Center announced that it will conduct practical agricultural education for the new year of 2025 for a total of 6 times until January 24. This education aims to vitalize rural convergence industries and provide practical farming technology to Goyang City farmers and prospective farmers.

Goyang City Agricultural Technology Center will hold practical training for farmers and prospective farmers for a total of six sessions in the main auditorium until January 24 to celebrate the new year of 2025. This training provides cultivation techniques and farming information that farmers must know, and consists of various courses such as floriculture, processing technology, eco-friendliness, greenhouse vegetables, rice farming, and urban agriculture.
The detailed training schedule is as follows.
Floriculture Class: Held from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM on January 13th, the class focuses on smart farm cultivation management technology in the floriculture field.
Processing Technology Class: Held from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM on January 14, training will be provided on planning processed products that reflect consumer trends.
Eco-Friendly Class: On January 15th, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, we will learn about soil management techniques for facility cultivation sites.
Facility Vegetable Class: Held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on January 16, the class focuses on understanding and managing major pests and diseases of facility vegetables.
Rice farming class: Held from 2 to 5 p.m. on January 23, the class will introduce the cultivation techniques for Gyeonggi-do’s new high-quality rice varieties, ‘Kawaji No. 1’ and ‘Chamdream.’
Urban Agriculture Class: Education related to urban agriculture will be held from 2 to 5 PM on January 24th.
In addition, Goyang City Agricultural Technology Center plans to provide various additional education programs that reflect the needs of the times, such as carbon-neutral lifestyle practice education, fine dust response behavior guidelines, and pesticide tolerance standard reinforcement system (PLS) education. In addition, it plans to provide advance education on agricultural e-site utilization methods and agricultural work safety to resolve farmers’ practical difficulties and support a sustainable agricultural environment.
An official from the Goyang City Agricultural Technology Center said, “We hope that this year’s practical agricultural education will be of real help to local farmers,” and “We will continue to provide support so that new possibilities for agriculture can be opened up through the revitalization of rural convergence industries.”
