Goyang Special City Haengsin Library announced that it will run a 4-day winter vacation history class called *’Take a Time Machine and Go into History’* for 3rd to 5th graders (preliminary) during the winter vacation.
This program is designed to help children easily understand and become interested in history by experiencing historical events and figures. The class will be held from January 21st to 24th, and each session will systematically cover the flow of history with a different theme.
The first session will be titled ‘Early Joseon: Gyeongbokgung Palace, the First Palace of Joseon, and the Kings of Joseon’, the second session will be titled ‘Late Joseon: King Jeongjo and Suwon Hwaseong’, the third session will be titled ‘Modern Times: K-Avengers Independence Activists’, and the final fourth session will be titled **’Modern Times: The Tragedy of the Nation, the Korean War’**. Each class will feature various experiential activities based on historical events to increase children’s participation and understanding.
An official from Haengsin Library emphasized that this history class will be an opportunity for children to understand the past and develop perspectives on the present and future, rather than simply learning about history.
Applications for the program can be made from 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 7th through the Goyang City Library website (https://www.goyanglib.or.kr). The number of applicants is limited to 15 on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications are likely to close early, so interested parents and students should hurry and apply.
