"Gwangjin-gu, implementing 'first birthday congratulatory money' support for newborns this year"

Gwangjin-gu announced that it will change the existing childbirth congratulations money system to a first birthday congratulations money for children born this year . This policy is being implemented with the aim of reducing the financial burden on families giving birth and improving the child-rearing environment .

Gwangjin-gu revised the Gwangjin-gu Ordinance on Childbirth , Childrearing, and Support for Families with Many Children to provide first birthday congratulatory money to families with children born after January 1 of this year . The first , second , and third children will receive 1 million won each , the fourth child will receive 2 million won , and the fifth child or more will receive 3 million won . The money will be provided in the form of Gwangjin Love gift certificates, and it is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy .

 

The target of support is the guardian of the child who was born , and must be registered as a resident of Gwangjin-gu continuously from the date of birth to the date of support . The application period is within 6 months from the 1st year of the date of birth , and must be applied for in person at the local community center in charge of the address .

 

In addition , families with children born in 2024 who have not yet applied for the childbirth congratulatory money can receive the first birthday congratulatory money through retroactive application .
