Bucheon City is providing emergency heating cost support to vulnerable groups suffering from the cold wave . Bucheon City will provide emergency heating cost support for the month of January to 19,500 households in the city who are vulnerable to the cold wave, including basic livelihood security beneficiaries and near-poor households, through the Gyeonggi-do Disaster Relief Fund .
As of the 3rd of this month, the support target is 19,500 households receiving basic livelihood security and those in the lower-middle class who have addresses in Bucheon City. 50,000 won will be paid once per household . Those who are eligible for support from the Gyeonggi-do Elderly Winter Heating Cost Project and the Disabled Heating Cost Project are excluded .

In order to provide rapid support, households with welfare benefit accounts will be paid on January 17 without a separate application, and households with seizure -prevention accounts and unpaid welfare benefits will be paid by January 24 through an investigation and application by the administrative welfare center in their residential area .
The application period for heating cost intensive support is until the 23rd . Applicants can visit the administrative welfare center in their local district with their ID and a copy of their bankbook , or apply by phone . The heating cost support will be paid in cash into the recipients’ accounts , and additional payments will be made in February if there are any missing recipients . This heating cost support is expected to contribute to reducing the economic burden caused by the cold wave by providing prompt support to crisis households in blind spots of welfare .
Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik said, “ The difficulties faced by low-income families are worsening due to the cold wave and rising prices in winter . We will protect the safety of low-income families’ daily lives through emergency heating cost support for vulnerable groups in Gyeonggi Province , and we will pay more careful attention and provide support so that no citizen is left without economic assistance in times of crisis . ”
Meanwhile , Bucheon City is actively promoting emergency welfare support projects for households experiencing crisis situations such as livelihood difficulties , and plans to provide prompt support to households in welfare blind spots who are experiencing difficulties during the winter .
