Incheon Dong-gu (District Mayor Kim Chan-jin) announced on the 15th that it had launched the ‘2025 Festival Development Research Group’. This research group was formed to identify problems with various festivals, including Dong-gu’s representative festival, Hwadojin Festival, and to devise improvement measures.
The Festival Development Research Association was comprised of 11 members, including 4 local residents, 3 festival experts, and 4 current and former Hwadojin Festival officials. All members participated voluntarily.
The research group is directly checking the festival route and location, benchmarking successful cases, and collecting data. Through this, they are researching festival development plans that can lead to resident harmony and regional development following the launch of Jemulpo Port, and plan to announce the research results in October 2025.
